"How long have I been in the pocket world?" Kailen asked.

"Ten days in the pocket world, but several months in the simulation," the time dilation artifact replied.

"Oh," Kailen commented in realisation. "So I’ve technically spent just ten hours away from the outside world, ten days in the pocket world, but several months in the simulation time zone?"

The time dilation artifact replied, "Exactly. Don’t dwell too much on it. Naturally, you can never understand this mumy’s capabilities."

Kailen would never get used to the terrifying and absurd feats of the time dilation artifact. She was manipulating time like taking a walk in the park.

Never mind. Why was she a time dilation artifact in the first place? But, now that he thought of it, if she was a time dilation artifact then who created her? Was she even a time dilation artifact in the first place? She didn’t behave like an artifact at all, but rather more like a sentient lifeform with emotions and feelings. Never mind? Kailen sighed. There was no use thinking about it all now. He just had to focus on growing stronger and when the time was right, all his questions would be answered. This was what she had told him.

Kailen dissapeared from the pocket world when the countdown to dissapear from the pocket world was up, reappearing once more in the room he was practicing runes in before he dissapeared.

Kailen quickly saw a lot of notifications sent by the members of the society, to him. Expecially the leaders of the society.

The moment he read through them, a glint of ferociousness flashed through his eyes.

The moment he said this, his figure whizzed out of the room, appearing in the large hall of the society where several society members were making a report to the leaders of the society.

The moment they all saw Kailen, the society members saluted him in respect. Before they even had the chance to ask where he had been, he asked, "Is it true?"

The gazes of the whole society landed on the society member, a treant currently giving a report on what had happened. Kailen’s gaze, unfathomable, as if they held countless mysteries, landed on him.

The fellow respectfully spoke, "Yes, President Darkhaven. It’s true. My group and I were currently on a mission in the Jaragu Mountains, when we were attacked by some members of the Darkhaven Society. Because of how strong they were, they overpowered us and injured us. Fortunately for us, a few members of the student council, who happened to be on a mission in the same region came to our aid, managing to help us push them back. That’s the only reason why we are alive."

"Did you just say members of the student council?" Pan was the one to speak. He found the whole thing weird. Had the Sword Tribunal Society not offended the student council? Why then will the student council come to their aid? Something was definitely off about this situation.

"Now that you mention it, this is very suspicious. Why would they help us? No offence. We are glad you guys are safe and all but" She stared at her society member who had just reported the occurrence, alongside his group politely after these words, the fellow gesturing that he did not take offense.

She nodded with a polite smile at these words, then added, "The fact that they helped someone from the Sword Tribunal Society when the student council president is against us, is fishy. Unless someone above the student council president ordered them to do so.."

Everlong added as she scratched her chin in though. "A councillor stronger than him could be responsible" Miranda’s brow forrowed in realisation as she added.

"But if a councillor ordered them to help our society members, then it means the councillor anticipated the ambush" Esimo added.

"Or the person planned the whole thing from the start, and told the student council members to swoop in and save the day, which would mean that the Student Council members that saved our society members and the ambushers are working together. But why would someone go to this extent?" Lian Yu added, also contemplating the whole occurrence.

Everyone in the hall had the same thought. Why would a councillor from the student council go to this extent to stage an ambush against the members of the Sword Tribunal Society and swoop in to save the them?

It was obvious that the members of the Sword Tribunal Society were hated by the Student Council after the feud between Kailen and the student council president. So they could have just decided to get rid of the members of the Sword Tribunal Society during their mission instead of partnering with the Darkhaven Society members and ambushing the members of the Sword Tribunal Society, leaving them injured and swooping in to save them.

A sharp glint of realisation appeared in Kailen’s eyes. "How strong were they?"

After being silent all this while during when his fellow leaders were theorising about the incident, he finally spoke, his words directed at the one who had narrated the incident.

"The ones who ambushed us were at least at the rank 5 intermediate stage Ascendant level."

Kailen added, expecting the answer, based on his current line of thought, "Which means that they could have killed you in a single blow right?"

The fellow nodded, curious about the society president’s line of thinking, alongside others in the hall.

Kailen added, "But they didn’t kill you. Just like our felllow society members theorised, I’m certain this means they planned to make it look like they wanted to kill you, but purposely spent time inflicting painful injuries on you during your skirmish with them, so that the others who are in on the plan would swoop in to save you right when it looked like they were about to kill you, making you indebted to the student council members for saving you.

After all, you feel more indebted to someone for saving your life, when you truly know you experienced hell before they stepped in, and when you know you were a hair’s breath from dying before they stepped in. This was a plan, purposefully crafted to make us indebted to the person behind it, ultimately leading us to trust the person, and a councillor of the student council was behind this."

Kailen’s words settled in the hearts of the society members.

He had confirmed the train of thought of the leaders that this whole event could have been a ploy by a councillor of the student council and carefully extrapolated the motivation behind the master mind’s plot was to gain the trust of the Sword Tribunal Society.

The members of the Sword Tribunal Society were completely awed at the deductive abilities of their leaders. These guys were geniuses on another level. They had analysed the incident and seen through the holes in the ploy efficiently. The president, alongside the leaders were really monsters. Not only were they geniuses, they had brains.

Anyway, at the moment, the problem was locating which councillor was responsible for the ploy, so that they would know how to deal with the person.

The members of the Sword Tribunal Society were pissed. Someone wanted to treat them like chess pieces on a board game and manipulate them for their purpose. They wanted revenge.
