Chapter 255: [Freedom Dove] - Nerio’s part (7) 1 day ago

At first, Silvanus killed Teacher A merely to flesh out Nerio’s personality. But it seemed that action had brought him a surprise.

Nerio rested his chin on his hand, watching as the teacher stepped onto the podium.

The man glanced over the classroom, then said softly:

"Because Teacher A had some urgent matters to deal with, she will never appear in school again..."

Hearing those words, the students below immediately erupted in commotion, as if they hadn’t expected Teacher A to quit like that suddenly.

The teacher didn’t stop their noise, only continued speaking slowly:

"I am Teacher Smith. From today on, I’ll be in charge of this class. It’s already class time, and we’ve wasted much of it because of Teacher A. The first subject is mathematics."

The students quickly slipped into learning mode, obediently sitting in their seats.

[Click, I’ll miss Teacher A’s curves. Who else could understand this feeling!]

[Nerio is truly ruthless!]

[He doesn’t know how to appreciate beauty.]

[Right, because rarely is anyone more beautiful than him.]

[Whatever the fans say is always right, hahaha.]

Seeing the students, the humans also hurriedly pulled out books from under their desks and pretended to study.

The classroom was filled with an air of seriousness, making it look like an actual schoolroom, rather than merely a dungeon.

Silvanus shifted his gaze to the other live-streaming rooms.

The players there were faring smoothly since they hadn’t run into situations like Leonard’s.

They arrived in class on time, sat properly in their seats, and the teachers hadn’t transformed into grotesque figures to scare them.

On the first day, as long as no rules were broken, the humans would temporarily remain safe.

Before long, it was already lunch break. The humans were so tense and focused that their bodies were stiff, wholly immersed in the lectures, while Nerio looked as if he was so bored he might yawn.

Even so, Teacher Smith didn’t spare him a glance, as if he were utterly invisible in this place.

Meanwhile, in the live-streaming room, Silvanus noticed a few humans who hadn’t concentrated enough being dragged away for punishment.

His gaze lingered on where those humans had been taken, his eyes lowering slightly, thoughts swirling within them.

"Riiing! Riiing! Riiing!"

Just then, the dismissal bell suddenly rang, still that same piercing, abrupt sound that startled anyone who heard it.

Damian nearly jumped out of his chair, his face full of panic.

"The afternoon classes will begin after the lunch break. Make sure to return on time," Teacher Smith said, then picked up his bag and left.

When his figure vanished, the entire classroom erupted like a stone dropped into still water, chaos breaking out everywhere.

The students cheered happily, gathering into groups and heading together to the cafeteria.

Some even came up to strike up a conversation with the "new students."

"Hello, where did you transfer from?"

A student with thick glasses asked, with several others walking beside him. They all looked scholarly, like bookworms—clearly a group of their own.

Damian glanced at them, smiling as he replied: "Just some nameless school, that’s all. Oh, right, can we go to the cafeteria together?"

The student responded warmly: "Of course, let’s go!"

With that, he immediately led the way.

Unlike ordinary schools, where lunchtime was limited and people had to line up for food, making the break period feel like a beehive in chaos, these students didn’t seem in any hurry to eat at all.

Leonard walked beside Nerio like a big dog, while Damian kept chatting nonstop at the front. Follow current novᴇls on novelꞁire.net

Though they said nothing, Thomas and Liora quietly watched Nerio. Arian adjusted his glasses.

Only Lucian seemed particularly lively: "Kid, you were really ruthless just now. If I happened to annoy you, would you deal with me the same way?"

Before Nerio could reply, Leonard bared his teeth at Lucian: "Don’t ask Nerio questions like that!"

"As expected of a loyal dog. Your look makes me want to snap your fangs," Lucian mocked.

Just then, Nerio suddenly rushed ahead. Both Leonard and Lucian froze, exchanging uneasy glances.

Then they realized how similar they were, their faces instantly turning cold as they glared at each other. Still, both quickly ran forward.

"Hey, kid, you’ve got short legs, but you run pretty fast, huh?"

Lucian raised his voice, catching up to Nerio in just a few steps.

Nerio turned his head to look at him, then gave a direct order: "I want to eat that."

Lucian followed his gaze. He had no idea what that stall sold, but the line stretched endlessly, twitching his eyes. This little brat was doing it to make things hard for him.

The two locked eyes. Nerio tilted his head, face full of innocence, while Lucian frowned and roared, "Go hungry."

[Honestly, everything would look way more convincing if he didn’t obediently line up.]

[Hahaha, Drake core hahaha.]

[I feel Leonard’s position as a top believer is being threatened.]

[No way, Nerio hates Lucian because he keeps clinging to him and spouting nonsense.]

At that moment, Leonard also came up beside Nerio. He remembered Nerio’s words—that Nerio was just a transfer student—and immediately mustered all his courage to take Nerio’s hand, leading the boy to an empty table. He reminded him gently:

"Sit here, okay? I’ll get food. Do you want to eat anything?"

Nerio shook his head.

Leonard quickly left.

Nerio swung his small legs, playing idly with his fingers out of boredom.

Just then, a shadow suddenly loomed over him.

Nerio looked up, only to be met with a large chest that almost blocked out the light—he couldn’t even see the face of the person standing there.

Silvanus: "..."

[Hahaha, please, why did the camera switch to Nerio’s POV at this exact moment? Hahaha]

[Asta would get a nosebleed on the spot if faced with this...]

[Nerio is so tiny hahaha I can’t stop laughing]

[He’s about to get crushed by a mountain, oh no, let me save him—no, let ME get crushed instead!]

[A bunch of perverts!]

"May I sit here?"

Liora asked with a smile. This time, Thomas wasn’t with her. Nerio tilted his head at her, then nodded: "Sure."

Liora sat down, her tall and alluring figure utterly out of place in this environment.

Nerio smiled at her: "Big sister, where’s your boyfriend?"

Liora was momentarily stunned. She honestly didn’t understand why Nerio kept trying to behave like an ordinary human while carrying such a divine form.

But Nerio had said he was just a normal student. Based on past experiences, they needed to play along with him.

Liora shook her head, replying softly: "Thomas isn’t my boyfriend."

Hearing that, Nerio grew curious: "Then are you bedmates?"

Liora: "..."

"Liora, what are you saying?"

Leonard had just returned with food and nearly tripped at Nerio’s question.

His eyes immediately turned hostile toward Liora. He was certain this woman had planted filthy thoughts into Nerio’s head. Absolutely intolerable!

Liora felt Leonard’s glare, but only chuckled lightly at him. It seemed that ever since Nerio appeared, Leonard had started revealing his fangs instead of playing the trembling coward. This, in fact, posed a bit of trouble for her organization’s plans.

"I was only making small talk with Nerio. He seems... a little too curious."

Leonard ignored Liora, simply setting down the food.

His gaze swept across the cafeteria, intent on spotting Thomas’s figure.

Lunch break wasn’t just for eating—it was also a time when factions gathered and exchanged information.

Leonard could sense that Thomas and Liora were in the same group and that their group had quite a few members.

Whether it was instinct or not, those people’s energy fluctuations always made Leonard uneasy—Thomas, in particular.
