"Mason Bennett, your thoughts are unhealthy," Bella Green said sternly, lecturing him.
"It’s what any normal man would think," he replied as if it were obvious.
"Normal men don’t pick a man as a partner." Follow current novᴇls on novel·fire·net
Mason looked at her, paused for a few seconds, and continued, "You don’t count as a man."
Bella: "..." Damn it!
"Let me go, I have to go shoot," Bella said sullenly.
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed in Mason’s eyes, but since today was the last shoot, he let her go willingly.
Bella patted her slightly flushed face and was the first to leave the prop room, but as soon as she stepped out, she froze.
Her face turned crimson in an instant, glaring at Louis Lawrence who was leaning against the wall at the door, smirking.
"Smiling so flirtatiously, are you in heat?"
Louis raised an eyebrow, his grin deepening, "In heat? Isn’t it you two?"
This blunt revelation almost made Bella explode with anger, her whole being like a little puppy baring its teeth yet completely unthreatening.
Mason followed her out, raising a hand to gently pat her head in a comforting manner, then looked at Louis coldly.
"Enjoyed eavesdropping?"
Louis shrugged, unabashedly, "Not too bad."
Mason glanced at him, then raised a hand to tidy Bella’s slightly messy hair and collar, his voice still calm and composed.
"Single for too long, can’t help having a peculiar hobby, I understand."
The flirtatious man who had been smiling: "..." Damn, I’ll kick over your bowl of dog food!!!
"Be good and go shoot, I’ll wait here for you," Mason said affectionately, patting the boy’s head.
Being so intimate with Mason in front of others made Bella blush all the way to her ears, she mumbled a response and then turned and trotted off to the dressing room.
Seeing that she had left, Louis also lost interest and wandered off.
...
After changing clothes and putting on makeup, Bella had just stepped out of the dressing room when she saw Louis standing at the door.
"What’s your problem, haunting me like a ghost?" Bella frowned.
Louis lazily leaned against the wall, wearing his usual mischievous smile, "Are you two together now?"
Bella knew he was referring to her and Mason.
She turned her head, her tone unfriendly, "None of your damn business!"
Louis didn’t get angry, he continued, "Does he not know you’re a woman?"
Hearing this, Bella panicked inside and quickly looked at him, "What do you mean?"
"Nothing much, just find it amusing. Didn’t expect your male disguise to be so effeminate that you could bend a man like Mason Bennett."
Bella’s face darkened upon hearing this, "You know him?"
"Ha, would it be strange if I knew the big boss of Huansheng?"
After saying this, he suddenly flicked her forehead with his finger and then walked away.
"Come on, today you’ll wrap up your filming."
Watching the man’s back, Bella frowned, feeling that something was off, but couldn’t figure out what...
...
The scene required a larger location and had many extras; after changing clothes, they went directly to a set resembling a city gate in the film studio.
Due to the many characters appearing in this scene, preparations took a long time.
Bella sat on a small stool, listening to Bryce Xavier instructing on the scene along with Louis.
The boy’s serious and focused demeanor deeply captivated Mason from afar.
He realized how charming the little one’s earnest demeanor was.
However, even so, he wouldn’t allow the little one to remain in this industry...
